West Ham’s Emmenuel Emenike remains
a target for Chinese Super League giants Shanghai Shenhua, despite only
recently joining the Hammers on loan, according to reports.
The 28-year-old Nigeria international signed for the Irons
in the run up to the last transfer deadline, cutting his loan stint at UAE side
Al Ain short to relocate to London for the rest of the season from Fenerbahce.
Prior to joining West Ham, Emenike was offered a lucrative salary by
Shanghai Shenhua, but opted against signing
for the Asian giants, yet reports claim they’re still keen on
him.
The powerful centre-forward’s future with the Hammers is
unclear, with no guarantees that the Olympic Stadium-bound side will keep him
on a permanent basis.
Should Emenike head for China, he will almost certainly be
following current team-mate Nikica Jelavic, who is on the verge of joining second tier
outfit Beijing Renhe.
